Offthread: I bought my wife a Lexus 400, with GPS system. Took delivery today. The GPS has a 5" diagonal backlit LCD built into the dash. Reads out the fuel, odometer, radio, temperature control, navigation out the kazoo, etc. Uses a soothing female voice for navigation directions. VERY nifty !!! Looks like 1/2 VGA resolution. Good maps, with every kind of ancillary information; viz. hotels, fuel, food, historical sites, etc. Option was $2,200, and makes the car a different and significantly richer experience. I'm looking at that thing, and now, I just GOTTA have one. Look for it soon in a garage near me!!! <G> mcd |
