What a bunch of nonsense - comparing this to Comparator. In the first place, this company may not have had much going for it at the end of 1997 -- but it now has a deal (" Of course, the agreement may turn out to be a hit for 7th Level, especially, since WaveTop's enabling software will be part of the Microsoft Windows 98 operating system") that should give it significance in the "internet" investing world. In addition, the Windows 98 factor is more than significant.
And it is ridiculous to compare this with KTEL. They are substantially different. KTEL has not yet gone on the net and, more important, who knows how big the market is for "oldies" records. One thing is for sure, as much as Joe Kernan has praised the music of the 60's, he has been forthright in his opinions - mainly, that these prices are outrageous (and that includes Excite, Inforseek, Lycos, etc.) and trading at multiples that are beyond comprehension. When they correct, they will do so big time. But in the meantime, I want to get in on this bandwagon. So ... who's to say that SEVL can't accomplish some miracles on its own. I am not saying that this will happen, but whose to say that this stock cannot go to 20 or better. Not me. However, with all the stocks soaring to unbelievable new highs, above and beyond all expectations, why should this one be the exception.
Look at MARG today - it went up 5 points yesterday (3 to 8). And it was discussed this am before the open. Everyone I talked to said it may have another couple points on "hype", but watch profit taking on this one. Well, I watched (regrettably, from the side lines) as this baby went up almost 20 points, and then the big sell-off came - so that it closed up only over 15 points on the day. And KTEL has been going up every day for a week. Granted, there has been profit taking - but buying has come in every day on the dips. So, I would bet this one is going up and I have an order to buy at the open. Doesn't mean I am right, but if recent history has any bearing, then I am on the right path.
