Nobody in their right mind wants to deal with them.

I envy you. The problem occurs when one is in a business where one has to communicate via exchanging word-processing files with other people. I keep hoping Scott McNealy can take us to a point where we download a simple browser/OS/word processor and spreadsheet which is platform independent. And then Microsoft could stop destroying innovation and creativity in the information technology sector of our economy.
