Mr.K, did you see the T.V. program? Did they mention CTI by name or was it just an interview with Dr. Parisky. Did anyone out there happen to see it so we can find out more information.

Everything that I can find out about this laser breast scanning method indicates that they are only able to detect mass, they can not identify if it is cancerous without a biopsy. This is very similar to the way that an MRI slices the material they are looking at into wafer thin slices on a imaging basis so as to spot suspicious tissue. This whole process would be one step up from a mammogram because it doesn't cause the woman to have radiation go through her body, which is potentially cancer producing by itself, but it still does not eliminate the problem of false positives. False positives still create the need for unwanted biopsies. What I haven't been able to find out is how small of a mass they are able to detect. We do know from mammograms that by the time they are finally able to detected a lump it is to late for a lot of women. If I find out anything more I will post it.
