Igor: Sounds like you are already an experienced trader. I suggest the modest goal of 10-20% for the first month and the small initial capital to limit risk for the inexperienced trader. Keeping the goal within reach enhances the trader's discipline and prevents wild moves. Greed and fear are our enemies.

And yes, $10,000 is a small starting amount. It will be just enough to make a small profit for the trader and a big one for the brokerage through commissions. When one has proven that they can make a good profit for the brokerage and still make their 10-20% cut in one month, it's time to place more money at risk with bigger trades.
