Wow! It sounds like some pre-announcement gloating over Ericsson signing a big time licence deal is in order. All other licences have been announced in a fairly straightforward way.

I just hope Qualcomm haven't undersold the technology. Ericsson should pay very, very large amounts of money. What could it mean? Unannounced. Not IBM or Microsoft surely. Could be anything, but the big and obvious one is Ericsson. Frezza totally silent for a year. Ericsson has been trying for 18 months to get a licence. There was the 9 month set aside business with Ericsson. There is silence on lawsuits. There is big pressure on multimedia cdma. With Ericsson and the acronym crowd of Europe hoping to form some sort of cartel.

If Qualcomm announces an Ericsson licence, that is going to be quite a stimulus to Qualcomm's share price. And Ericsson's! There wouldn't really be any losers - just an acknowledgement that GSM really is a legacy world which will rust away over time.

If they are mentioning it several times, then it must be a little more than your average garden grown licensing deal.

In anticipation,
Mqurice

[Are you thinking $66 is over the top?]

PS: How about that Ibexx guy! He is one great contributor. Thank goodness he sticks around here.

Diamond H, I enjoyed Ramsey's Jasmine. Jasmine holds many fine memories. It spreads like cdma and is difficult to untangle. Smells wonderful. More time at lunch would have been better. I need to take a closer look at cdmaOne phones in cmda mode, so maybe Tarken and I will be back.
