MCRE makes great software, but sometimes I am not sure, if they develop their programs for professionals or for the broad audience. Good ideas get buried by their "cryptic" interfaces. They are great when you work with intuition, but they are a pain in the ass when you want to reproduce your results. I know dozens of people who use Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, SoftImage, Strata Studio and so on, but only a few who go with Painter or Bryce. In the 3D segment they experience tough competition from other companies.Their Photoshop PlugIns got a little bit out of fashion - same with Goo. You use these effects three times and then the people tell you: "Ahh, that's Kai". No designer really wants that... I'm long on this Stock for over a year now. Bought it at 7, saw it climb up at 15 and return again. I'm still holding it, because they have some amazing ideas in their pipeline, like the "trixels" and simple 3D scanning/printing (together with TDIT). I hope they'll get some cool products out of that. We still have to wait to see the bird fly...
