Ibexx, Paul and thread, I met my AMD friend last night and had a chance to ask when he thought they might make any money. He thinks there's a chance in 3Q98. I asked him how and he answered that they've solved the .25 micron problems. Before the .35 problems have been fixed?. Yes... So I said that that might help, but prices will continue to go down every quarter as they have in the past so how does he think making money becomes possible. His answer: He thinks they might make 12.5 million good chips in the next year. We'll see... In the meantime, I asked how they are going to fund the big upcoming payment. He can't wait to hear that for himself at the upcoming bd meeting. He's still hoping for the Big Blue Lone Ranger to rescue them from their predicament. He really likes this idea it seems. FWIW.
