Okay, I sit here at my computer recalling the many unexpected huge volume up days in the past 2 1/2 years only to be followed by a relentless decline. What could possibly make this different? What possible bad news could be left in Quarterdeck? While they always surprise me, I would say only one: They are guilty of cooking the books and admit to accounting "mistakes" and announce this shortly. Is this likely? I'd have to say no after they settled the shareholder suit and the officers bought at 1 3/4. Curt Hessler is a long time career executive with too much to lose in a crooked operation. Review his resume on the QDEK home page. So why is this spurt the real thing? Well, for one it comes after a bad earnings announcement and 9 days before the actual release and conference call. It comes with new product releases and awards for software. These factors were absent in the past. It comes AFTER completion of corporate restructuring and a refocused strategy. It comes after several key management positions have been filled. It comes after the preferred conversion plays out. They are working on a 67,000,000 share float calculated for the max dilution. If the dilution is factored in and the closing weeks of the quarter and the first 1/3 of this quarter are announced to show a sharp upturn in sales with product acceptance and an announcement of new releases imminent, then this upsurge marks the turn of the tide. We sail with this tide friends. As Shakespere said (and Jesse paraphrased)this full tide carries us to opportunities that if missed leave us in the shallows of despair for the rest of our investing lives. The view from the quarterdeck shows this ship leaving port. All aboard. Let this be my epitaph if I am wrong: He was deluded to the end and financially shipwrecked on the shoals of greed.
