Well there is nothing to say about Ashton so I'll talk about one of my favorites -Absolut.
The Absolut Annual Report just came out and is rather interesting. Absolut found 13 Kims in the NWT but without commercial diamonds.
Ed Shiller -the Director and top geologist for Absolut and Tanquray points out that if you compare the NWT kimberlite field with Ashtons and look at the coverage of the Kimberlites (or spread) you can draw some parrallels. Now I read that these kimberlites come up from deep like a shotgun blast. If they come from the same depth -which they probably do as you get that deep the two plays are pretty close together - the earth being spherical and all.
One could speculate that the spread of the shotgun blast on the surface would potentally be quite similar. Thus the conclusion that is old news -the odds of hitting kims will decrease as you get further from the center.
Now Shiller figures that the field should spread to a radius of 200 km based on NWT and possibly (maybe) larger.

OK -time to play on the map. Put a bulls eye on the K4/K5 cluster and draw a 50 km circle, a 100 km circle and a 200km circle.

Conclusions?
1)I have too much spare time.
2)Ashton already staked the best bit.
3)New Claymore is sitting pretty.
4)DeBeers subscribes to this theory since they bought into the next best proximity play - Troymin.
5)Absolut -though a smaller property- has a great location. They are drilling in May by the way and have a terrible web page at absolutresorces.com that hasn't been updated since the Kimberlite fields were formed.
6)Montello and a few others just make it into the 100km circle (barely).
7)Victory and Marum -if they find anything -will be finding an entirely different field -which would be great but I don't play the PLUS on Saturday either.

Summers here -go for a bike ride! THe ADP will take a while.
