Chris, no that is not taught, nor is it some kind of law. Yes some jews feel that way. It is no different than the couple from different provinces in India who married recently and were killed for their love.There is fear and intolerance all over the world. It is what rips families andloved ones apart, and keeps others from understanding. the fact that it is in existence is not a basis to say that it is okay to perpetuate it. it is a reason to work towards eradicating it.

I dont know what kind of God you beieve in, but i dont think god ever
rends anyone in pieces. If god has the ability to achieve any outcome in any fashion he chooses, Would he choose a punitative or rehabilitative course? Your decision will be a very interesting clue as to how you view God.

Intolerance? Please, you show it in your posts on a daily basis. Is it any worse than Protestants and Catholics killing each other? Or Moslems killing christians, jews killing Moslems, blacks and whites killing each other? You say tht someone disowning a relative is worse than this? I now have to question your judgement....
