David, thanks again for your response. I agree completely with you on the direction the industry probably will eventually take. It would be marvelous (maybe not for Avid:-) if the technology could get here in a year or two at a reasonable desktop price. If that happens, then someone is going to make a lot of moolah. Any idea who that company might be? Also, one of my friends who recommended Avid also recommended TRUV (so he's 0 for 2 so far). Apparently TRUV used to do alot of business with Avid. I've heard almost nothing on TRUV. At 3 1/8 is it cheap or is this another waterfall stock?
