Opens higher than prior day's close, but not by a little, by a lot. So that a GAP appears on the charts.

PFE has been gapping up the last four sessions at least.

Tends to creatE the feeling, esp. if repeated, that the freight train is leaving the station. I.e., no matter how much it goes up in a day, you better get in before the close, cause tomorrow it might GAP UP.
