Natural Gas News

RESEARCH ALERT - DMG raises U.S. natgas outlook
NEW YORK, April 21 (Reuters) - Deutsche Morgan Grenfell analyst Michael Young
has raised his U.S. natural gas price forecast for 1999 by $0.35 to $2.50 per million
British thermal units and is looking for $2.70 in the year 2000.
-- Young said in a research report that U.S. natural gas demand could surge by 700
billion cubic feet to 23 bcf in 1999 as the economy keeps on a growth track and winter
temperatures return to normal after the El Nino effect.

-- He sees natural gas supplies diminishing and producers cut capital spending plans due
to lower cash flow.

-- Says that Canadian imports are not a threat, noting that it seems likely the Viking
Voyager pipeline will be canceled.
