News FINALLY hit Reuters at 10:21 PM EST and it was a pretty lame release...
Westell <WSTL.O> releases new Supervision hub
AURORA, Ill., April 21 (Reuters) - Westell Technologies Inc. on Tuesday released a new version of Supervision, its central office hub for telecommunications companies providing high-speed ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) access to the Internet or other networks.
Previously each line from a home or residence had to have its own connector at the central office. But Westell said the new Supervision allows some 252 subscriber lines to connect to the central office and then the Internet, for example, via one connector.
"It should be a considerable savings," a spokesman for Westell said. The telecommunications companies as well as the customers should see the savings, he added.
In addition, Westell said Supervision includes routers which will be the standard, as decided by the industry's standards organization. Shares of Westell traded off 3/16 at 11-15/16.
