I like Spiegal because they own Eddie Bauer, if memory serves me correctly, they have alot of debt tho. I understand your angle of "internet mania" though.
Nobody has a thread on Lillian Vernon ( LVC), but looking at their numbers, I just bought the stock (so I'm gonna be biased), they are the 3rd largest mail-order company, and Gabelli owns 8% of the company betwenn $14-$17/ share. I can't find a website for them, but like you, I have to believe that's the direction in the future. You might want to look at Lillian Vernon's numbers if you are looking into mail'order companies because on a valuation basis, if we are wrong about the direction, at least it's a value-based investment righht now. BTW, they've been in biz since 1951. |
