Troubles in paradise? My god Bernie's post of the government putting the "positive spin" on a KL obscured by foul grey dirty air was appalling! Don't talk about it and it won't exist. Is the air quality in KL the metaphor of the grip a government has on the problems of Malasia? Is smog/smoke the metaphor of the Asian crisis?

I know I keep saying this chaps but SE Asia is going DOWN! I don't want this. It doesn't make me happy. What makes me unhappy is to try to bottom fish and find you drowned in water you thought was three feet deep but it turned out was three hundred feet deep.

When the"bottom" comes in Asia...it's my feeling you'll have weeks or months to buy...the opportunity won't come on an intra-day low between brunch and lunch.

Sidby will get cheaper still.

On another topic did you find this to be true in Japan? Strange denial. What is so wierd to me is the Japanese indiviudal opinion about "the crisis". The vagueness of the response to crisis. I had a Japanese lady to tea on Sunday. She was so horribly appalingly vague about it. "Oh, dear...politics. They aren't organized you know. The people don't believe in politicians." Hmmm. What else is new? Lemon tea or Raspberry?
