Dell to only sell Pentium II machines...
dailynews.yahoo.com

Notice that their 400MHz Pentium II machine with DVD still uses a dedicated "DVD decoder card" - presumably this is CUBEs MPEG chip on board.

The video is compressed into the MPEG-2 format. The MPEG-2 image quality is superior to the MPEG-1 content available on PCs for the past few years. Its video resolution of 720 x 400 pixels is also superior to the Video Home System (VHS) resolution. However, MPEG-2 has high computational requirements that tax the power of today's fastest microprocessors. As a result, PCs require an additional MPEG video decoder chip or board in order to match the video-playback quality of consumer DVD players.
