<<OT>> In My Experience, Gene's A Very, Very Decent Sort...
It was Gene a while back who wanted
me to be a little more balanced in my views of another poster.
And because it was Gene, I tried to pay attention... I failed,
horribly. But, I tried. No, really, I did.
There is so much information... there is trading information,
money flows, short volumes, etc. There is information about the industry,
the company, CPM vs revenue-sharing, Motro's management style,
new deals, etc. Honestly, I don't which approach is MORE
VALUABLE. I know which has profited me... and that's all I
can represent to this thread.
And maybe trading tips--I've got a buddy who's a SOES
trader--are MORE HELPFUL in this week after the historic
runup. Maybe.
And, I, too have been getting my share of private messages,
though not ten in number, quite a few. Some concerned about
how to play the short-term. Which ISN'T my strong suit.
Some concerned about the TONE
of this thread... and how it's heading south. (But, I must
say talking about private messages is a little bit like Joe
McCarthy waving that blank sheet of paper on which he claimed
were a great number commie conspirators. We can't REALLY know, now
can we?)
In truth, of course, Gene DID misread one of your posts.
My opinion. But, you've misread the character and intelligence
of those here. My opinion. You began by leaping all over me
for bringing up the POSSIBILITY that you were a shorter... and
you did the equivalent of screaming in your jeremiad with
bold type, etc. Not a REALLY, REALLY good beginning... from
my perspective.
Of all the ways you MIGHT have responded to my "if-then"
proposition about the possibility of shorting, you chose
a rather over-the-top approach. That was your choice.
Of course, I'm sure you have even over-the-top-ness in your
range of responses. But, as may come as a surprise, I do, too.
For every narrow (or even not-so-narrow) technical question
you can spin... and that may go unanswered by we cheerleading
LONGs... I assure there is a universe of questions specific
to the COMPANY's short and near term prospects... that, in
all bluntness, WOULDN'T BE YOUR GAME AT ALL... not even close.
But, I can no more hold you accountable for stuff you're not really
interested in... than you can hold me accountable for stuff that
won't effect my LONG position or understanding of the underlying
company.
Obviously, your perspective is QUITE DIFFERENT from mine.
Sometimes, heck, oftentimes a difference in perspectives leads to a broader
understanding. Unless, of course, that difference devolves
into hardened positions and a tone that is less than civil. There
is a really strong smell of one-ups-manship and gotcha in this
room right now. I'll own up to my part in that...though, my
self-perception (as distorted as that may be) tells me that I've
not contributed much in the way of that odor.
In any case, this WILL BE MY LAST COMMUNICATION about
this particular subject. Life is too, pardon the word, short
to bother over cyber tete a tetes.
For all who happen to be just visiting the thread today,
I assure you this is NOT THE NORM.
Now, back to happy (hopefully, happier) SEEKing...
