Peter: Thanks for your discussion of closed-end funds site. I took a quick look and will return to it latter. It appears to be very interesting. As to your question "What makes you think that ROC may convert to open-end status this spring? " It is a provision of this closed-end fund. (See Below) The following is taken for "Trust Net" Review of ROC Taiwan Fund ROC: Continuation / Wind-up Provision; "The Trustees will propose conversion to open-end status if shares trade at an average discount of 10% or more in any 12 week period. Approval of such a proposal would require an affirmative vote of a majority of shares outstanding." Go to this site and you can see what I am talking about.
