Bryan, good point about the intra-Florida short hop market. I agree it should have great potential, as nobody does it better than Southwest. It certainly has worked stupendously for them in California. (In my midAtlantic myopic view, I just thought they were after the snowbirds!) United, also with deep pockets, tried to compete for awhile but finally gave up - eventually abandoning routes altogether, like San Jose. The key is not the depth of their pockets, but costs. I have not seen Delta Express' costs, but doubt they can come close to LUV's costs. Nobody is going to throw money down a hole unless they think they can force the other out of the market.
