Metro One Telecommunications Announces Multi-Year Contract With Sprint PCS

PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Metro One Telecommunications, Inc. (Nasdaq: MTON) today announced a multi-year contract with Sprint PCS to provide its Enhanced Directory Assistance(R) services to Sprint PCS customers located in all Sprint PCS service areas.

Under the terms of the multi-year contract, Metro One will provide its
local and nationwide directory assistance services for each Sprint PCS
(Personal Communication Services) market. In conjunction with the scheduled launch of services in new markets by Sprint PCS, Metro One expects to open new call centers over the next 18 months in such major metropolitan areas as New York, Boston, Dallas and San Francisco.

Metro One's Enhanced Directory Assistance (EDA) provides callers with
personalized, easy-to-use directory assistance, including such features as call completion, categorical search, local event information, and StarBack(R), which enables a caller to return to a directory assistance operator at any time during a call.

national and local Enhanced Directory Assistance from its nationwide network of local call centers," said Timothy A. Timmins, president and CEO of Metro One. Sprint PCS is a joint venture of Sprint Corporation (NYSE: FON),
Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI), Cox Communications and Comcast Corporation. The partnership has licenses to provide PCS service in 33 Major Trading (MTAs) with a population of 190 million, making it potentially the largest Personal Communication Services provider in the United States. Sprint PCS plans to launch service in 15 to 20 of its markets by year-end, with the remainder to be launched in the first half of 1997.

Metro One Telecommunications, Inc. is an independent developer and
provider of Enhanced Directory Assistance services for the wireless
