I received a report indicating heavy selling by four insiders in March. I called the company and they indicated that all four selling officers were selling stock they acquired by exercising options and that all of these officers still held substantial option positions. The exercise of their options, in most cases causes, immediate ordinary income tax to the employees on the difference in the exercise price and the market value. This forces sales to pay for the option price and the tax on the gain. So my take on these sales is they have no real bearing on insider opinions of the company. Does anyone else have an opinion.
