I think McData's switch was actually developed by a division of HP. This division was acquired by McData. I haven't seen any public evidence that there have been further developments, but I guess it would make sense if McData also acquired the FC engineers. They may have felt it was less expensive to resell the Silkworm under their name - I am still looking for the original post.
