I think you can take a little more.....
When I recommend this stock to people the first thing they ask is what is it. The audience they should be advertising to is non-gamers and investors through PR or other means. The rest of us are convinced. Just because they cannot keep product on the shelves now is no reason to think people won't choose the less expensive competition when it resides on the same shelf.
It's not good enough to say we cannot keep up with demand. That is a short term problem. The goal should be to ensure a demand well into the future with brand loyalty, clear upgrade paths and quality product. 3DFX has only one of these.
The facts have been hashed out here for many months but the only real fact that matters right now is the doubling of earnings and the slashing of the stock price. IMO due to the competitions effectiveness at minimizing the dominance of 3DFX in the marketplace. Whether true or not it will provide shelf space to competitors and spark interest from gamers while TDFX sits back silent selling expensive Voodoo2 chips.
In addition, I don't blame management or anything else for gains or losses in the stock market. For short term trading it's just gambling. I believe however that the slide could have been prevented through better past mngmt and PR.
;)
