Ian, My point some messages back was that Dow 9000+ is not the big deal that everyone makes of it. But the real question is where do we go from here? Some of the really big companies have done quite well. (LU, SUNW INTC KLAC and some smaller companies as well COHU). Those companies that have done well did so without blaming SEA while those that did not have as good of a business plan blamed SEA for everything except EL NINO.

Iam no guru since I drink Bud instead of Heineken. But here is how I would prepare for the next few days.

1}Buy some AMAT tomorrow about an hour after the market opens. Try to get a feel for the soxx index. Buy after things settle down a bit.

2) If AMAT should get to 40 3/4 write some covered calls on part of your portfolio. I would use the May 40's as the best choice. My second choice would be to buy some puts . The May 35's would be my other choice.

The mantra "The problems of SEA will continue for the rest of the YEAR" has been repeated so often that people no longer question its validity. And this is a danger point. Where reality is misinterpreted and substituted for by a mantra.

If a person feels that investing in AMAT is too risky at the moment. I would suggest The Robert Stevenson Information AGE fund that is heavily invested in this area. Or any fund that has AMAT as its largest holding. I can't think of any at the moment but I believe that some of the thread followers may know of some funds that have AMAT as the largest holding.

At any rate I'm happy to report that "conventional Wisdom" that was born last month on this thread, died, and was given a decent and proper burial.

good luck to all......Jerome
