carl is Schwab "direct" a dial-in? Is that still available? I looked to install it recently but didn't find it.
Today Naz had 1+billion shares and CSchwab connected ok for my check-ups from work. I was considering, during a heavy time they
may be available at office directly, however last time I looked there
wasn't a service, just a phone bank and some stock displays. I suppose I'll probably be fully invested anyway, so I'd just have to suck it up.

I think a lot of the bearish sentiment expressed on this thread is less rational than one supposes. Fear of the Unknown is manifesting as an idealogical stance against the market tape. Enjoy the market sentiment, and remember what it was like in December of last year, or in March of last year, or in July of 1996, etc. OTOH each of those lows was preceded by jubilant highs. So just as quickly or faster the current sentiment can turn down, and we will again look at today's levels as unreal, and a truly "long haul" will be imagined to ever regain the heights. And the market will be declared over, we have seen the last top of the final grand super wave of economic history, etc. etc. Just hope you have some cash then, that you didn't margin up to the hilt on the way down. :)
