Network Imaging Wins $841,000 Contract to Deliver Internet-Based Business Solutions to Kuala Lumpur Internet Exchange
1View Software to Be Used Throughout South East Asia
HERNDON, Va., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Network Imaging Corporation (Nasdaq: IMGX - news) today announced a $841,000 contract win with Warga Media Sdn Bhd, of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for its 1View:Object Manager(TM) software. Under the agreement, Network Imaging's technology will act as the storage and distribution engine for the Kuala Lumpur Internet Exchange (KLIX), the region's newest and most robust Internet Exchange. KLIX is being developed and deployed by Warga Media. This win marks Network Imaging's first South East Asian implementation, within the oil & gas industry. In addition to this industry, Warga Media plans on using this technology in four other industries.
KLIX is the scalable framework upon which the Multimedia Supercomputer Corridor, MSC, will soon develop Internet content management applications. KLIX will have immediate impact in the oil & gas industry, allowing companies to more efficiently use, manage, store and distribute large volumes of technical information such as engineering drawings. The system will be configured to support 5-10 terabytes of data. The initial contract calls for implementation of Network Imaging's software in Malaysia, with possible future expansion to sites in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and China, for applications within government, finance, banking, insurance, construction and education.
Harjono Zain-Al-Abidin, CEO of Warga Media, commented, ''We chose to work with Network Imaging because its industrial-strength technology has consistently performed production-level storage and distribution functions for content rich and intensive engineering organizations in highly distributed, client/server and Web-based Internet/intranet environments. The scalability of the software makes it particularly well-suited for our collective applications in other industries on an expanded basis throughout South East Asia.''
Jim Leto, President and CEO of Network Imaging, commented, ''The oil & gas industry is a data-intensive market that places great strategic value on instant retrieval and management of geophysical mapping data and complex drawings. Automated mapping, exploration and drilling information comes from many sources and must be integrated and immediately accessible for operational success. As businesses around the globe plan for the information explosion, it is exciting to see our technology repeatedly chosen for its unique capabilities in handling extremely large volumes of information.''
