Internet Service Provider First In U.S. To Launch Standards-based 3Com Cable Modem Service That's nice, but what I need is a 3Com DSL modem. DSL is rolling out here and it would be way cool if US Worst dropped the NetSpeed modem and went with a real modem company. You can bet your Hacienda I'll be on their case real soon about that. I would like to at least have the option to use a COMS modem, but not sure id COMS has a RADSL modem ready. I'll need to check on that. What equipment will I need? Customers will need to purchase from US West one of the following RADSL Modem solutions: NetSpeed SpeedRunnerPCI RADSL modem board for Windows PCs with a PCI bus - $199 (not yet available) NetSpeed SpeedRunner 204 RADSL modem and ethernet NIC board - $299 NetSpeed SpeedRunner 204 RADSL modem without ethernet NIC board - $299 NetSpeed SpeedRunner 204 RADSL modem with Universal Serial Bus (USB) connection - $299 (available 9/98) NetSpeed SpeedRunner 202 RADSL modem/router - $999 US West will run a special when DSL rollout occurs. For the first 60 days after the rollout, US West will include a NetSpeed SpeedRunner 204 for free with a one year contract on the DSL line. Blah blah blah.... inconnect.com
