Rob:

Thank you very much for info on CC.

I share your concern about the market for C6 and C6+. Sure, IDTI can make the low-end X86 CPU's than anyone else. But will the the low-end market sufficiently large to absorb IDTI's C6/C6+ Winchip. Remember human being have tendency to want something that run fast. That's why the award goes to the fastest runners and that's why cops hand out tickets for speeding. The evolution of PC and X86 CPU's have shown that people want to have a faster PC if the price difference between the fast and slow ones is not significant. I do not know how many people would buy 100 Mhz 486 CPU today if it were sold at $5 each.

During the conference call, did management said anything about the end demand of C6 Winchips ? A lot of 3rd tier vendors probably started to fill their shelves with Winchip early this year. Whether the end demand is strong or not, it will yield an initial impression that the demand of the C6 Winchip is strong. However, unless the end demand is strong, the piplines will be filled very quickly.

Considering INTC recently priced its 200 MHz MMX pentium at $95 ea (per 1000 unit) and AMD 233 MHz K6 currently priced at around $85, a 225/240 Mhz C6 Winchip priced at mid-$50 is very competitive, and it is reasonable to expect the 3rd tier vendors will push their customers to buy the PC based on C6 winchip. The important question is how long the demand for 225/240 MHz C6 will be there ? IDTI's management seems to think it will be there for next few quarters.
