Although personally I would love to have options at this
price (or even close), I would be astounded if QP were
to step up to it. The volume is tremendous relative
to the equities they currently provide; the data is sparse
and not nearly as reliable; the sources of data are diverse;
the name space is VERY difficult to manage (speaking as
a database guy); and the number of users that would
ante up for the cost is likely small. If I were in their
shoes, I wouldn't even think about it. They have their
niche, and it's providing great value for a broad base.
