Jeff:

To All: Here is a snipit of info regarding the sequent computer news story from WSJ Interactive to add to Jeff's. Jeff, I'll forgive the difference in count 252 vs 250.

"The key is how the technology enables those microprocessors to access memory, a usually slow -- by computing standards -- process that can gum up other cutting-edge approaches that link numerous microprocessors, such as massively parallel processing. NUMA, which stands for nonuniform memory access, dramatically speeds up the microprocessors' ability to tap memory. One result: Sequent said its NUMA machine can contain up to 252 of Intel Corp.'s fastest Pentium Pro microprocessors; most current high-end multiple-microprocessor systems have 16 to 30 microprocessors."

Too bad there is a relatively limited market for this type of machine.

Best Regards
