Gary,it interesting that assigment inthe money translate short covering. I dont quite undertand it , but to me it means lack of market for inthe money put. I guess MM assigning becouse they fear that stock will appreciate and they are trying to make their money. By the way I just got asigned 2 put of july 20 on cabletron. I am short of 15 and 17.5 puts may of FPAM, planning to buy stock if get assigned. So far did not get it. I feel positive of FPAM and accumulated substantial position . Good investing
