Re: "Please name a few of the 30 companies supporting this phantom Super Socket-7"
Here we go: FIC, Architech, Aopen, Abit, Atrend, Chaintech, Dataexpress, DFI, EFA, ENPC, Epox, Freetech, FYI, Gemlight, Gigabyte, Jamicon, Jetway, Lightstar, Lunghua, MSI, Octek, PCPartner, QDI, shuttle, Soltek, Soyo, Superpower, Tekram, TMC, Tyan, USI, Win, Winco and Zida will be releasing boards based on the VIA MVP3 chipset.
Check it out yourself on via.com.tw
Alladin V boards from Asus and 2 the MAX have been on shelves for sale since last month. The only significant motherboard companies I can think of off hand that have not announced a new super 7 board are Micronics, Intel and Supermicro (although Supermicro has a new socket 7 board based on the new SIS chipset).
BTW, VIA was named supplier of the year by Compaq last year. |
