Lets figure this out. If earnings are flat, then we can assume around 16 cents per quarter (assuming NO MORE CHARGES). This is .64 per year. Thus this rule-of-thumb projecte PE is 16.4 based on a price of $ 10.5. This is probably (I didn't check) the broad market average PE.
BUT most S/W COs usually trade at PEs in the 20s. So I would bascially agree with you. If SYMC doesnt't get its act together they will be sub12 for a while. BUT I don't see them trading much below 9 either.

No matter how I look at it... SYMC is a HOLD right now.
