Why not rename the C6 the InterChip? Or say it is optimized for surfing the Internet? It doesn't have to mean anything or have real prospects for returning profits - the meer mention of Internet would cause IDTI to soar to 100!

I'm trying to start up an Internet e-commerce business (with a different twist) myself and wish that I had it to the stage of going public - just now to the point of seeking "angle capital" and partners. The way of how investors are throwing money at Internet stocks is crazy. Many of them have very tenuous plans for actually making money. I guess the idea that a rising tide lifts all boats has it's merits.

IDTI is in great shape for the future. Yes, they are increasing stockholders net worth on the balance sheet and they have some very exciting products. But the industry is headed for a period of turmoil - the storm before the calm (upside). I think the next six months or so will be tough going. With Asian cutbacks in capital spending and pull-backs on expansion plans among US and European companies, the time frame of mid '99 may be very interesting. We may get another mega up cycle for semis around that time caused by a capacity constraint (or at least a lessening) to the point that it becomes more of a sellers market. We haven't had that for most IC products for years.

IDTI is very well positioned to do relatively well in somewhat "trying times" as they continue to build momentum with new products. The short-term may be a bit ugly but the long-term picture is very exciting. IDTI has the potential to do great things. They still need to flesh that out into more real products and real production that meets market demand in a timely fashion. The largest and long lead-time hurdles are well on the way to being solved. I hope they have the creative vision to fully capitalize on their "core competencies". That magic of divining where the demand will be one or two years down the road could be something that separates them from the pack. Henry has shown a lot of genius in his uP architecturing and I hope that he and his devotees, with the help of IDTI can expand on that trend.
