Sorry do not know much about Bard's PERFIX technique. I believe that it has been referred to as the shuttlecock approach - in that a device that resembles a badmitton shuttlecock is inserted in to the herniated area. I believe Bard calls it mesh plug hernioplasty. It competes with all other hernia techniques and therefore with GSI's. Bard also sells more traditional hernia repair material - mesh et al.

Summary judgement today against Guidant for inequitable conduct. I had given this a low probability of success, so that shows how much I know. ;-)

Good news. Now if we can just get the big cases to court/arbitration.
