Amazing how so many positive accomplishments relative to the turnaround and repositioning of the company get lost in "a number" or "misstated result". Most analysts and Fund managers can't spell "company" let alone understand the dynamics of building one. For long term investors, this is an opportunity to accumulate more shares. All this rhetoric about what Borland was is worthless relative to where the company is intending to go. Those who insist on dwelling on that really shouldn't aggravate themselves by owning the stock. We have an all new and much improved management team from Del through all VPs. The hidden gem from the VSGN acquisition, besides the technology to enable the enterprise product initiatives, is Roger Sippl and his Lt.
Roger is a brilliant visionary who started Informix, Vantive and Visigenics. How many of those are "floating around"? The products are greatly improved and being received by corporate buyers. When did Borland ever have 6-7 digit deals? The revenue streams from IBM, Sap, Oracle, etc are just beginning this quarter. There's more but I'm tired typing. Maybe investors should be focusing on "any operating profit" vs a substantial loss as the appropriate gauge as to how the "new Borland" is doing. Good luck to all!
