Jim, That is an excellent point.I have often seen this divergence and never could come up with theory that could help me KNOW where the market was REALLY headed.My system is not great...just sorta homemade.But that is why I watch this site: quote.com Ticks have often gone the other way than the markets, the trin and vix.It's beyond me to know what to make of the ticks sometimes. I also look at the advancers then add the unchanged to that and then compare that to the decliners to see how good or bad a day it is. What do the ticks really tell you? WE know about the rotation huge money flows and it can't go on too much longer,IMHO...but unless the - ticks really get huge,will it make a difference to the dipsters and the WHEN is the toughie! Please let me know how you use the ticks and what weight do you give them. Regards, Barbara
