InterAmericas Communications Corporation Announces
New Chief Executive Officer For Its Chilean Operations
CORAL GABLES, Fla., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- InterAmericas Communications Corporation
(Nasdaq: ICCA - news), announced today that Carlos Fernandez Calatayud has been appointed Chief
Executive Officer of ICCA's Chilean operations, FirstCom Chile.
Prior to joining InterAmericas, Mr. Fernandez Calatayud, 41, had more than sixteen years of
professional experience with IBM in providing information technology solutions to the Chilean business
community. At IBM, Mr. Fernandez Calatayud was in charge of value-added services related to
network services, outsourcing, information technology, business consulting, project management,
systems integration, and application development. Mr. Fernandez Calatayud was also a member of the
Board of Directors of IBM Chile and served as Vice President of the Board of the Chilean Association
of Information Technology Companies.

telecommunications services to high volume users through state-of-the-art fiber optic networks in
Santiago, Chile and Lima, Peru. ICCA provides services through its 120 kilometer fiber optic network in
Santiago, Chile and is currently constructing a 230 kilometer fiber optic network in Lima, Peru.
