Question To Byron, Sam Lee, or other smart people...

It is often stated that MM's will play around with the price of a stock. In a recent case - the MM's took our stock from $6 to $4.75 and back to $6 within a couple of hours.

Yet there are many MM's listed on DGIV. Are they in competition or do they work together?

If they are in competition - it is not clear to me how they can allow the stock price to drop below what people are willing to pay for it. For instance, if one MM dramatically drops his bid price, another MM in competition will put his bid price just above to collect the shares (and not allow the other MM to collect the shares). It seems that a group of MM's in true competition would always find the correct valuation of a stock.

If they are working together - how in the world to they escape the anti-trust laws (conspiracy to price fix)?

Any thoughts - just trying to learn.

Good Trading - J
