The past two days have been very, very busy ones in the market. NASDAQ and Datek Online have been experiencing record high levels of activity. This has caused some delays in order processing, mostly confined to the the first 15 minutes of the day.
NASDAQ had a very high volume day yesterday, and today 15 minutes after the open, NASDAQ's ability to update quotes and report trades were seriously delayed.
We performed several hardware and software upgrades last night, and thus minimized delays this morning, despite the same high level of activity. We have also accelerated our NASDAQ order processing system upgrade, due to be completed in early August, so that it might be done as early as 1 June. These upgrades will improve system performance almost daily, we won't be waiting until June to bring you LOTS more order processing power.
Datek Online is committed to maintaining the highest performance possible especially when it comes to proccessing orders for the individual investor. When delays do occur, we try to post announcements as soon as we can, so please check the messages page on busy mornings.
(In response to some comments on this thread.... ....We already have all the latest CSCO equipment we need, and we are integrating it quickly, but fancy routers and switches are of course only part of the solution. Please don't send the "Wise Guys" just yet, it might be counterproductive. Our developers are much more effective with all their kneecaps and fingers. I think management is to. )
