Well, there's a lot of angry people here. And if I was DATEK I would move heaven and earth to placate these folks. If you genuinely lost money because DATEK took 15 minutes to process your market order, you should be reimbursed. Period.

That's good business, because otherwise there will be a lot of vocal anti-DATEK types out the internet preaching the corruption of DATEK. I will be one of them, because I work hard for my money, and technical difficulties don't cut it as a rationalization. If you had warned me ahead of time that mornings would be a problem, great.

But DATEK did not. I got a message about slow/screwed servers 15 minutes AFTER I placed my market orders. That's not fair and smacks of manipulations. Perception counts for a lot on the stock market business. And Datek looks very corrupt and irresponsible.

It is a cheap fix to reimburse some small investors who lost money, but if DATEK does not see that solution. Well, I suspect a lot people here are writing down names of DATEK officials and they will remember them.

Sounds a little melodramatic, I know. But money is serious. DATEK, if it does not reimburse, may get a "serious" lesson about customer relations.

I would not want to be in the office on the day that happens.
