In case you were not aware of it, the Thin Film Group of Varian was sold to Novellus around December of last year if my memory serves me correctly.
Varian stock is VERY cyclic. Generally takes swings about every quarter, depending on the condition of business. But with the market in general doing such odd things, who can say?

I was a member of Varian from 1981 to 1993.. a victim of "reduction in force". I'll be starting back with the Klystron group of Communications & Power Industries Inc. They bought the Electron Device Group about 5 years ago. I've been trying to find out if it's a private firm or publically owned.
