Intel (INTC) shares may take a hit Friday after a decision by the Federal Trade Commission to approve Intel's acquisition of Digital Equipment's (DEC) chip operations on the condition the Alpha microprocessor technology is licensed to competitors AMD (AMD) and Samsung. The decision may negatively impact Intel as it raises the level of competition from competitors. See full story Intel closed down 13/16 at 83 1/4, while AMD closed up 13/15 at 29 3/8.
