Infoseek recovers after hours By Reuters Special to CNET NEWS.COM April 23, 1998, 3:40 p.m. PT Select Internet stocks, led by Infoseek, mounted a partial recovery in after-hours trading today, following a profit-taking sell-off in the sector during the regular trading day, traders said.
After the markets closed, Infoseek reported a first-quarter loss of 5 cents per share. ÿ Analysts had expected the search engine company to post a loss of 10 cents per share.
In late trade, Infoseek's stock rose to 31.81 on the Nasdaq.
During the regular session, Infoseek had tumbled 4.19, to finish at 28.44.
Meanwhile, Yahoo edged up to 113.75 in late trading, from 112.19 at market close. In regular trading, Yahoo shares fell 6.19. Excite made up part of its 5.38 loss during the day, closing at 60.13, then rising to 61.25 after the markets closed.
Also, Lycos traded at 56, up from a close of 54.13, a 7.75 loss during regular trade. |
