I watched the CBS News with Dan Rather. No mention made of PLC, just the process. Emphasis on the gee whiz laser stuff. Interview with one of the doctors who does this at Rush Presbyterian in Chicago. Also an interview with a couple of people who have had the procedure. The commentator brought up the issue which the FDA raised last summer, i.e. if you don't know exactly why this should work, the better feelings of the patients might all be psychological. A woman who was one of the patients said emphatically that she felt better and the improvement was more than in her head. A film clip showed her biking vigorously away on a stationary bike. The other patient said he certainly hoped the FDA would approve. If there was a "slant" to the presentation I thought it was positive to thinking approval was justified. I have no idea what will be in the minds of the FDA people tomorrow.
