I don't think just-in-time is good news for Intel or any other chipmaker. It still takes 3 months from wafer starts to packaged product (or so I gather from this and the Intel thread) so someone has to predict demand and carry an inventory buffer! If it ain't the boxmaker, then it's the chipmaker, and we all know that the value of chips in storage drops according to Moore's law or worse.
