The following is from the Standard & Poor's Web site:

Bear Stearns reiterated its buy recommendation on COMPAQ Computer (CPQ). Analyst Andrew Neff said during a visit with the company yesterday, he learned that orders are exceeding expectations across product lines and geographies and that the company is ramping up to meet demand. Neff said concerns about the company's server business are overdone and that the company is maintaining its position in the low end with cost-reduced product, while moving upscale with higher-margin systems aimed at the enterprise. Neff said demand is extremely strong and that the company has access to sufficient Intel chips.
