Mid-cap technology stocks rallying - Business Week

NEW YORK, April 23 (Reuters) - Mid-cap technology stocks have helped boost the Nasdaq of late and are just in their first leg of a rally, an analyst told Business Week magazine for the May 4 issue.

''It's the sector to seek undiscovered companies with solid track records in fast growing markets -- and low valuations,'' tech analyst Vivek Rao told Business Week.

Three stocks Rao notes are Crystal Systems (CRYSF - news), MAPICS Inc. (MAPX - news) and MRV Communications Inc. (MRVC - news).

Rao told Business Week he expects Crystal to earn $0.76 per share in 1998 and $1 in 1999. MAPICS should earn $0.78 in 1998 and $0.98 in
1999, he said. MRV should earn $1.23 this year and $1.72 next year, Rao said.
